This is a solid, reliable air compressor. If you need something for a job site, this air compressor should be one of your top choices. We aren’t giving it a 5 out of 5 since it isn’t useful for household tasks. This is also an air compressor that’s on the larger side. It really isn’t suitable for home use not only because of the limited number of tasks it can perform, but also for the amount of space it would take up in storage.

Our Opinion
We like the California Air Tools 8010A Air Compressor for work on a job site or work indoors. The versatility of this compressor cannot be overstated. It’ll power a nail gun, impact wrench or even an 18 gauge brad nailer. The low noise level and relatively light weight keep it a very handy machine to have around even as a backup to a heftier machine.
You can definitely keep it in your van or stored away at a job site, but we certainly wouldn’t recommend it for everyday household use. Trying to inflate bicycle tires or pool toys with this machine is definitely overkill and you’ll probably wind up over-inflating things.
You can also use this for airbrushing. Get a 3/8ths to 1/8th adapter fitting and you should be good to go. With a run time of 30 minutes, this can easily work in your set up.
