The product gets a nearly perfect score for good reason: it’s simply better than most other air compressors in this category and price range. It’s a little bulkier than its competitors and that’s the only reason for the half-point deduction.
This air compressor, sold here with their toolkit, gives you a great combo for projects around the home and on the job. It can handle a roofing gun or a framing nailer without issue. While there are other air compressors out there that are more powerful, the weight and ease of handling of this machine are attractive attributes to the solo-preneur or skeleton crew.
Checking in around the web, most people who are wowed by this air compressor had a lot of reasons to use it with the tools included in the Combo Kit. We think you’ll find more reasons to use this air compressor as you get a feel for it.
Maneuverability
This Bostitch air compressor is very maneuverable. People found it very comfortable to use on projects that required them to move from area to area such as framing. A lot of air compressors with this kind of power are a lot more difficult to move around. If you need portability,you need to consider this air compressor.
Lightweight
The light weight of this air compressor makes it easy to manage. it is a little bulky because of its irregular shape, but it really shouldn’t be an issue. you may have to reposition it a couple of times to get it exactly where you need to, but that’s just nitpicking on our part.
Because of its light weight, you’ll find it easy enough to pick this up and pack it in your van to take it to a job site.
Noise Level
The noise level on this air compressor is relatively low in comparison to its competitors. While not as low as, say, the California Air Tools 8010A air compressor, it’s fairly quiet on start up. Start up takes about three to five minutes and then, you’re good to go.
If noise level is a big consideration to you, you’ll want to put this air compressor on your short list.
Conclusions on Key Features
Considering all of the reviews we’ve checked out and our own personal use, we’d say that this is an air compressor that’s suited for small contract jobs. You can pack it into a van, go to a job site, fill it up, and it’ll drive a basic power tool without a lot of down time. We wouldn’t recommend this for driving multiple tools at once. The combo kit gives you opportunities to take on a variety of jobs.
The tank shows no sign of leakage, even after a couple of days of downtime.
We would definitely consider this air compressor as overkill if it was going to be used solely for home use.

18 GA 2-inch Brad Nailer
The brad nailer drives up to 18GA brad nails from 5/8-inch to 2-inches. It isn’t adjustable but it works well.
2-1/2 inch 16GA Straight Finish Nailer
The 16 GA straight finish nailer drives 16 GA straight finish nails from 1-1/4-inch to 2-1/2-inches. It makes fast and easy work of driving finishing nails. It’s a little slow to respond to pressure adjustments.
Heavy Duty 3/8-inch Crown Stapler
A heavy-duty crown stapler is also included in the combo package. It works with crown staples from ¼ inch to 9/16 of an inch.
The hose is packaged at the top of the box (for those reviewers that missed it, check your recycling center). With the proper fittings, you can use a larger hose – up to 3/8-inch and up to fifty feet long.
Our Conclusion
This is a modestly priced pro tool. You can see with the included tools that this air compressor is made for more than just pool toys. We wouldn’t recommend this if you were planning on using this for spray painting as you would need more air volume at low pressure. If you work in carpentry and need a nailer or stapler, this is a great buy for you.
If a warranty is offered, consider that purchase. If something does break, at least you’ve got extensive coverage.
